An unidentified youth committed suicide after jumping into Hatirjheel from a bridge, police said.

The incident was reported around 8.45pm on Tuesday (Feb 26), said Deputy Commissioner Biplob Kumar, Dhaka Metropolitan Police Tejgaon division.

“A diver team of fire service recovered the young man’s body,” said Kumar before adding, “The corpse is kept at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital for autopsy.”
