REUTERS/file photoThe high court declared a verdict, calling the Pilkhana killing savage and brutal; but though 15 months have passed, the copy of the whole verdict has not been revealed as yet.

Lawyers say, it will take time since the case has a plenty of convicted persons.

Considering the number of convicted persons, this case is the biggest in history. On Nov 5, 2013, 152 persons were handed death sentence while 159 got life sentence.

Later, on 26 and 27 November, high court declared a ten thousand page verdict. Finally, high court handed death sentence to 139, life sentence to 185 and 228 were given imprisonment between 3 and 10 years.

A three member high court bench led by justice Md Showkot Hossain gave the verdict.

Assessing the verdict, high court said, “There was the conspiracy of a vested group behind that BDR mutiny.”

Attorney general Mahbubey Alam says, “The whole verdict is big and once it’s published we will relate out decision.”

Saying that the publication of verdict relies on the justices, he said, “It would not be right for us to make any comment.”

During the BDR mutiny of 2009’s Feb 25 and 26, 74 persons, including 57 army officers, lost their lives.
