Shops that store any of the 29 extremely combustible substances in their warehouses will be sealed-shut in addition to having their licenses revoked, said Dhaka South Mayor Sayeed Khokon.
“After a discussion with the traders, we have unanimously categorized 29 substances that are highly combustible,” he said on Tuesday (Feb 19) while inaugurating the trade license renewal ceremony of chemical traders at the capital’s Babubazar area.
“Therefore, shops that store such substances in their warehouses will be sealed by mobile courts,” he added.
Syeed urged the traders to use harmless substances as samples inside the store. He also advised them to keep large amount of tradable chemicals far away from residential places.
