Actor Sanayee apologises for “indecent” social media contents

Actor Sanayee MahboobActor Sanayee Mahboob has publicly apologised for uploading “embarrassing” videos of herself on social media.
She signed a bond with the police as well as apologised live on Facebook on Sunday (Feb 17).
Earlier in the day, the actor was held by Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) over allegations of spreading “indecent” videos.
“We brought in Sanayee to speak to her as part of the safe internet campaign led by Information Minister Mustafa Jabbar,” said Nazmul Islam, Additional Deputy Commissioner of DMP Counter Terrorism Unit.
“She has apologised to the nation for her videos and has agreed to remove them,” he added.
He said the actor has also given her word to not make such videos anymore.
“The Cyber Security and Crime Division will be monitoring her actions. Action will be taken if she does anything outside the bond.”
Meanwhile, in her Facebook live Sanayee said, “The controversial videos of myself were not shot for financial gain.”
She admitted to her mistake saying, “The Cyber Crime Unit said that the content might be damaging for under-18 viewers.”
“I apologise for the embarrassing videos of myself,” Sanayee said and pledged her support for the government’s safe internet campaign.
