A group of Chatradal leaders and activists led by the front’s President Al Mehedi Talukder and General Secretary Abul Bashar Siddiqui went to the canteen on Wednesday (Feb 13) morning.
They are expected to brief the media about the DUCSU polls at the canteen.
Meanwhile the ruling Awami League’s student body Chatra League was already present there led by the General Secretary Saddam Hossain.
Leaders and activists of Chatra Union and Shamajtantrik Chatrafront were also present.
The Chatra Dal and Chatra League chiefs embraced and exchanged greetings as a show of harmony.
On Feb 7, for the first time in nine years, Chatra Dal activists and leaders held a rally at the DU campus. They then met with the vice chancellor and handed him a memorandum demanding to postpone the polls by three months.
BNP’s student body last held rallies on campus in January of 2010 but were attacked by Chatra League leaders which left many of the activists injured.
