Two cases have been filed against Bangladesh Chatra League President (Paltan unit) Sheikh Nazmul Hossain Miron and 16 others for assaulting police officials.
Motijheel police zone Additional Deputy Commissioner Shibli Noman said that the cases have been filed on Tuesday (Jan 22).
They have been shown arrested and produced before a court, he added.
“Sheikh Nazmul Hossain Miron demanded money from a Tuhin at Paltan’s Azad Products Bhaban,” said Paltan Police OC Rezaul Karim.
“He (Miron) claimed that Tuhin owes him money and hence an altercation ensued,” he added.
A police official at the scene said that when the police went to sort things out, Miron and his men assaulted them, after which they were brought back to the station.
