The education board is active to prevent question paper leaks for SSC and similar exams. Last time, when questions were leaked, the education minister faced flak but the ministry remained outside criticism.
However, this time, the ministry is alert along with the respective education boards. Dhaka Board chairman, Professor Ziaul Huq, says, “We have adopted some different strategies this time.”
Ministry sources say that a meeting over SSC and similar exams, due to start from 2 February, was held on 20 January, Sunday. At the meet, the boards have been warned.
Later, education minister told journalists, “The board has jurisdiction over exam and question papers and the ministry has very little to do other than play the part of a coordinator.”
Relevant sources say that several sets of questions will be printed and instead of security tapes, other measures will be adopted.
On Sunday, education minister, Dipu Moni, said, “To prevent leaking of questions, papers will be put in envelopes made in foil papers and sent to each centre.”
If the envelope is opened then there will be evidence, she added.
Education board source says, question papers will be sent to district administrators before the exam and thirty minutes prior to the actual test, the question set to give to students will be communicated over phone.
Professor Ziaul Huq, says, “Exam will be held on one paper all over the country but if needed, separate question papers will be used.”
Sixty four sets of questions were made by 64 moderators and sent to BG Press, said sources.
