Former Bangladesh Bank governor Dr Atiur Rahman has called for reforming the education system.
“Attention must be given to reform education system so that students can grow with the sense of morality and the adequate sets of skills,” he said on Thursday (Jan 17).
Speaking at a freshers’ reception programme in Khulna University, Rahman said, “Today, Bangladesh marches toward prosperity after rising from the destruction.
“(The government’s) policies to construct mega infrastructures and increase human resource skill have to be maintained to continue the journey to build ‘Sonar Bangla,” he said.
Establishing research and development fund essential to ensure creativity at the university level, Atiru said before adding, “Bangladesh is now at the ignition phase.”
