In the petition, Akond also moved the HC to order the EC not to include Menon’s name in the gazette notification.
Speaking to media, Akond said “Voters couldn’t cast their ballots as Menon’s agents stuffed the ballots.
“I complained to the EC but they took no steps, which violates Article 66 of the Constitution,” he said.
Akond said, “Besides, Memon held an ‘office of profit’ when contesting the polls, which violates Section 20 of the Representation of People Order (RPO).
“He (Menon) also used AL President Hasina’s images on his campaign posters violating the 2008 electoral code of conducts,” Akond said.
