A court in Dhaka has set Jan 25 to hear the charges framing against jailed BNP chief Khaleda Zia in 10 cases filed over a sedition, murder and sabotage charges.
Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge KM Imrul Kayes passed the order on Sunday (Nov 25) after defence’s counsel sought time auguring the High Court stayed most the cases’ trial proceedings.
The court also set the same day to hear another case.
Of the 11 cases, eight were filed with the capital’s Darus Salam and two with Jatrabari police stations in connection with arson attacks on vehicles in 2015.
The other was filed with a Dhaka court on sedition charge for her remarks on the number of Liberation War martyrs.
The BNP chief is now serving five years imprisonment as she was convicted in the Zia Orphanage Trust graft case on Feb 8 this year.
