Maulana Fariduddin MasudAs many as 101 clerics including Solakhia Eidgah Maidan’s Khatib Fariduddin Masud have called for rejecting Jamaat-e-Islami.
The clerics made the call in a statement, issued on Friday (Nov 23).
“Pro-Maududi Jamaat-e-Islami had brutally killed mass people of this country in the name of Islam in 1971. They burned down thousands of homes. Signs of their brutality can be found all over the country. We must not let them win the election,” the statement said.
The spirit of independence war and Islam has developed among people of the country after the war criminals were put to trial.
“Jamaat activists believe in violence. They take any opportunity to cause bloodshed,” the statement read.
The statement also slammed the banned party as it hindered the development of Qawmi Madrasa.
“They are active in their effort to turn Bangladesh into a failed state like Pakistan,” the clerics warned.
