REUTERS/file photoPrime Minister Sheikh Hasina is joining the ‘Let’s Talk’ programme on Friday (Nov 23) to listen to the thoughts and ideas of the young generation and share her views with them, reports BSS.
The Awami League’s research wing, the Centre for Research and Information (CRI), is organising the interaction which was earlier scheduled for Nov 16, the state news agency said quoting a statement by CRI issued on Thursday (Nov 22).
“Different studies have depicted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina as the most popular leader among the youth of Bangladesh. And now she is joining the Let’s Talk programme to show once again why she is so popular with the youth,” the report quoted CRI Executive Director Sabbir Bin Shams.
A total of 150 young people selected from across Bangladesh, including professionals, jobholders, entrepreneurs, students, and sports and cultural activists, will take part in the programme.
They will have the opportunity to discuss the government’s policies and measures to take the country forward.
This is the first time the prime minister is facing the youths, according to the CRI. It said the prime minister is expected to share some information about her youth to encourage the young minds.
‘Let’s Talk’ is a series of interaction that the CRI regularly organises to connect youths with ‘politics and policymaking.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s son and ICT Affairs Adviser Sajeeb Wazed Joy took part in the programme on several occasions.
“Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina always tries to stay connected with the commoners. That’s why she reads the letters from the general people. She also answers these letters,” Sabbir said.
“And at different times she has emphasised the role of youth in building a developed Bangladesh,” he added.
