The perpetrators behind harassing people during the 48-hour countrywide transport strike will be brought to justice, says Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan.
“Those who harassed common people during the transport strike will be identified through video footages. They will not be spared,” he said on Tuesday.
His remarks came while speaking to the media after attending a meeting of the Awami League’s Dhaka Metro North unit at the capital’s Gulshan.
During the strike on Sunday and Monday, transport workers harassed people by smearing burnt engine oil on drivers' faces, forcing them to get off the roads, and, in some cases, physically assaulting them.
Several video clips of such harassment by the workers went viral on social media, drawing huge public outcry.
