BNP chief Khaleda Zia’s health condition does not allow her to move, the prison authorities told a court in Dhaka.
The court of Special Judge-5 Akhtaruzzaman was expected to hear the arguments in the Zia Charitable Trust graft case on Sunday.
A former prime minister, Khaleda is serving a five-year term at the old jailhouse in Dhaka since Feb 8, when she was convicted of embezzling foreign donations made to the Zia Orphanage Trust.
“But the prison authorities said in the custody warrant she cannot be produced due to health conditions,” said Khaleda’s counsel Sanaullah Mia.
The court rescheduled the hearing for May 10 and granted the BNP chief bail until then, he added.
