(Photo: Nashirul Islam)The Geography Paper II test of the ongoing Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) exams for Monday has been postponed as authorities at a centre opened sealed envelopes of the question papers on Sunday, when the test for Geography Paper I was held.
Dhaka Education Board’s Chairman Ziaul Haque told Bangla Tribune that the test scheduled for Monday has been postponed. “A new date will be announced later. Actions will be taken against those responsible for the gaffe.”
An education ministry official said that authorities at an exam centre in Mymensingh on Sunday opened the sealed envelopes for the test scheduled for the next day.
“The officials immediately closed the envelope. We postponed the tests as soon as the local administration informed us,” Secretary to Secondary and Higher Education Division Mohammad Sohrab Hossain told Bangla Tribune.
He said the decision came as it was not possible to print new question papers and distribute it across the country within a day. “We do not want to take any risks.”
