Two people have died in Dhaka after they were run over by two reckless buses operated by the same company.
Twenty-two-year-old Selim Mia was killed on the spot when the Trans Silva-operated buses ran over him at the capital’s Jatrabari around 1pm on Monday. Another person identified as Jewel, 30, died later at the hospital, said police.
Jatrabari police OC Kazi Wazed Ali said that the buses have been impounded soon after the incident and that one of the drivers have been detained.
The men were run over by the buses, which were gaining on each other while crossing the street.
They were rushed to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where Selim was pronounced dead while Jewel succumbed to the injuries around 5pm.
