The Supreme-court appellate division has issued a ‘freeze’ on the high court order to remove establishments outside the lay-out plan in the capital's Hatirjheel-Begunbari project within seven days.
The court also ordered the High Court to settle the issued rule within two months.
An appellate division bench, led by acting chief justice, Mohammad Imman Ali, passed the order on Sunday (Oct 14).
Advocate Manzil Morshed stood for the writ petitioner while advocate Khurshed Alam stood for the state.
“No establishment outside the lay-out plan can be removed before the rule disposal,” said advocate Khurshed Alam.
On Sept 10, the high court ordered the authorities concerned to remove all infrastructures beyond the layout plan of Hatirjheel-Begunbari project within seven days.
The appellate division passed the order on Sunday, after hearing a plea seeking a ‘freeze’ on the high court order.
