The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) has summoned ruling MP Bazlul Haq Harun on allegations of embezzling of Tk 1.34 billion.
The Awami League lawmaker from Jhalokati is one of the directors of Premier Bank.
Harun stands accused of colluding with top Premier Bank officials to embezzle the fund through cheque fraud.
The ACC letter issued on Tuesday and signed by its Deputy Director Shamsul Alam says, he used the funds to pay off his loans with the Dhaka Bank as well as to buy Premier Bank shares.
The Awami League MP has allegedly brought real estates, luxury vehicles with the fund, according to the graft watchdog, which accuses Harun of acquiring illegal wealth.
