The online application process has started on Friday (Aug 31) to participate in the admission test for government and non-government medical colleges in the MBBS course of the academic year 2018-19.
It will continue until Sep 18 at 11:59pm.
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare decided to start the online admission application from Aug 27 but it was later deferred.
A notification issued by the Health Ministry said, "The online application date has been changed to install new software to incorporate admission related services in line with government's decision to set up new government medical colleges in 2018-2019 education year."
Details of the rules and application process will be known from the website of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (www.mohfw.gov.bd) and Health Department website (www.dghs.gov.bd).
In a press conference in Dhaka on Aug 26, Health Minister Nasim said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina agreed to set up four new medical colleges in Naogaon, Netrokona, Magura and Nilphamari.
Another proposal for a medical college in Chandpur is waiting for approval.
Medical admission test will be held on Oct 5 and admit cards will be available from Sep 29 to Oct 3.
Besides, for submission of online application to Bangladesh Dental Surgery (BDS) admission will be from Oct 16 to Oct 27.
The admission test for the 2018-19 academic year will be held on Nov 9 in the BDS course, sources said.
