A court in Dhaka has granted bail to Faria Mahjabin in a case filed for spreading rumours on Facebook over the recent student movement for road safety.
Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Md Aminul Haque on Tuesday passed the order after hearing a bail petition filed by her counsel Zayedur Rahman.
On Aug 17, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate AKM Moin Uddin Siddiquee granted three days when police pleaded for a 7-day remand.
RAB arrested Faria Mahjabin on Aug 16 from her Dhanmondi residence for ‘instigating’ the recent student movement for road safety through uploading ‘provocative’ audio clips and posting status and ‘fake’ photos on Facebook.
