Quota reform movement joint convener Lutfun Nahar Luma has got bail in connection with a case on charges of spreading rumour through social media during road safety protests.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Subrata Ghosh Shuvo after a hearing granted her bail on Monday afternoon.
Luma’s lawyer Jayedur Rahman confirmed it to Bangla Tribune.
Joytirmoy Barua, Zahid Iqbal and several other lawyers argued for Luma.
During the students’ road-safety protests, Luma went live on Facebook. Later, a case was filed against her on charges of spreading rumours to incite violence under the ICT Act.
She was arrested on Aug 15 from Belkuchi in Sirajganj and later she was transferred to Dhaka. She is a student of Eden College.
