Quota reform protest leader Luna on 3-day remand

Lutfunnahar LunaPolice have been given three days to quiz quota reformist leader Lutfunnahar Luna in custody.
The joint convener of the 'The Council for the Preservation of Bangladesh General Students’ Rights’ was produced in court on Thursday (Aus 16), when police pleaded for a 5-day remand.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Kazi Kamrul Islam, however, granted three days, defence lawyer Jayedur Rahman told Bangla Tribune.
On Wednesday (Aug 15) the police in a drive in Sirajganj arrested Luna, 21, daughter of Abdul Kuddus of Baoikhola village in Gopalganj’s Kashiani Upazila, in a case filed under the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Act.
Luna, a 2nd-year student of Social Science department at Eden College was picked up from her uncle's house at Khidro Chaprar Char village in Sirajganj’s Belkuchi Upazila around 5am.
Luna has been a vocal since the Council has been leading the protests demanding reforms to quota in civil service.
