Transport owners in Dhaka will start inspecting fitness of vehicles and drivers’ licenses from Thursday (Aug 9).

At a press conference on Wednesday, the Dhaka Road Transport Owners' Association made the announcement saying, this will be an ongoing campaign.

“No one will be allowed to drive without valid documents. Vehicle owners are given a deadline of Sep 30 to update documents”, said it’s General Secretary Khandaker Enayet Ullah.

He also announced that the owners will not operate buses on the basis of daily contract.

Other bus owners and worker leaders including Mohakhali Minibus Owners’ Association President Abul Kalam were present at the briefing among others.
