The ruling Awami League’s student front has expressed solidarity with students demanding safer roads.
Leadership of the Bangladesh Chhatra League’s (BCL) Dhaka University unit went to protesters at Dhaka’s Shahbagh intersection.
Around 11:30am, DU BCL President Sanjib Chandra Sarker and General Secretary Saddam Hossain went to the protest site, when they distributed candies among the demonstrators.
“We support this movement and the prime minister has instructed us to caution the students about intruders who might misguide them“, Sarker told Bangla Tribune.
The government has accepted the nine-point demand of the students and started implementing them, he said.
