Bangladesh confirms 51 coronavirus cases

ReutersThe Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) has confirmed that two more people have been found infected with coronavirus in the country in the last 24 hours, raising the total number of infected to 51.

IEDCR Director Dr Meerjady Sabrina Flora made the disclosure at the daily online press conference from Dhaka’s Mohakhali on Tuesday (Mar 31).

She said that 140 samples were tested in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of samples tested in the country to 1,602.

As per official figures, Bangladesh government has so far reported 5 deaths and 51 infections from Covid-19, a new strain of coronavirus.
