As many as 17 more laboratories will also be set up across the country for the coronavirus sample test, says Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Maleque, reports BSS.
“We have taken a decision to set up 17 more new labs across the country for diagnosing COVID-19 in a shortest possible time,” he told an online media call on the coronavirus situation by the Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) of the Health Department on Monday (Mar 30).
Besides, 200 new ICU units have been set up at different hospitals with the facilities of ‘ventilation and dialysis’, he said, adding that necessary training is being imparted to the medical technicians and sample collectors.
Urging the mass media to publish objective news, the health minister said there is no shortage of necessary kit and PPE (personal protective equipment) in the country.
Briefing on the overall coronavirus situation, Maleque said “The overall situation in the country is good and we hope that we would be able to overcome this chronic situation.”
