Over 95 percent students clear PEC, Ebtedayee exams

Students celebrate their success after publishing the results of Primary Education Completion (PEC) on Tuesday (Dec 31).The success rate in Primary Education Completion (PEC) and Ebtedayee exams this year have stood at declined to 95.5 percent and 95.96 percent respectively.
A total of 326,088 students have secured GPA-5 in the PEC exams while 11,877 madrasa students have achieved GPA-5 in the Ebtedayee exams.
State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Zakir Hossain presented summaries of the results to Prime Minister Sheikha Hasina at her official residence in Dhaka on Tuesday (Dec 31).
Later, the he briefed the media with the details of the results at the Secretariat.
"Barishal division has topped with a success rate of 96.93 percent in the PEC exams while 99.14 percent students in Gazipur cleared the exams making it the top district. Among the 510 Upazilas, Daulatkhan in Bhola secured a 100 percent success rate," said State Minister Hossain.
In the Ebtedayee exams, Rajshahi topped among the division with 97.81 percent success rate while Naogaon secured 100 percent ranking at the top among districts, according to the state minister.
Last year, 97.59 percent of examinees passed Primary School Certificate, or PSC, exams while 97.69 percent passed their Ebtedayee exams.
