In the latest reshuffle in the civil service, the government has appointed new secretaries to nine ministries and divisions.
The Ministry of Public Administration has issued separate notifications on Monday (Dec 30) in this regard.
Women and Children Affairs secretary Kamrun Nahar has been appointed as secretary to the Information Ministry.
She replaced Abdul Malek whose term ended on Monday (Dec 30) and was also the first woman to be appointed as the Principal Information Officer.
Religious Affairs Secretary Anisur Rahman has been transferred to the Energy and Mineral Resources Division while Sheikh Yousuf Harun, Secretary to the Health, Education and Family Welfare Division, to the Public Administration Ministry.
Mahbub Hossain, additional secretary of Local Government Division, has been made the secretary of the Secondary and Higher Education Division, Rawnak Mahmud, additional secretary of Technical and Madrasah Education Division, has been made the secretary of the Fisheries and Livestock Ministry, and Sultan Mahmud, chairmen (additional secretary) of Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (RAJUK), has been promoted as the secretary to Power Division.
Besides, Ali Noor, director general (additional secretary) of the Central Procurement Technical Unit (CPTU), IME Division, has been made Secretary to the Health, Education and Family Welfare Division while Mohammad Jainul Bari, divisional commissioner, Dhaka made secretary to Social Welfare Ministry and Nurul Islam, additional secretary to the Public Safety Division, made Religious Affairs Secretary.
