Mercury likely to dip to 7 degrees due to cold wave

The temperature is likely to drop to seven degrees Celsius in some parts of the country as a mild cold wave swept through the country on Thursday (Dec 19).
Citizens of Dhaka went about their affairs shivering as the temperature dropped to 13 degrees due to cloudy sky and dense fog.
The Bangladesh Met office has predicted the tempertature in Dhaka to drop a couple of more degrees.
“The temperature will keep going down till Dec 21,” meteorologist Ruhul Kuddus told Bangla Tribune.
He said that the lowest temperature recorded across the country would be around six to seven degrees.
The met office said that a cold wave swept over several regions since Wednesday (Dec 19) midnight and the lowest temperature recorded at Chuadanga was 7.9 degrees.
Meanwhile, the temperature was 9.5 degrees in Rajshahi, 8.8 in Pabna’s Ishwardi, 9.5 in Nogaon’s Badalgachi, 9.8 degrees in Kurigram’s Rajarhaat , 9.2 in Jashore, 9.8 degrees in Kurigram, 13.2 in Nilphamari and 10 in Syedpur
The temperature recorded in Chattogram was 16 degrees, 15.8 in Sylhet, 11 in Rangpur, 12 in Khulna and 12 in Barishal.
The weather is likely to remain dry but thick fog may prevail at some places over the country during midnight till morning, a met office release said.
