Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque.Let alone Tk 600 million, 60 paisa hasn’t been spent on the ‘List of Razakars, Al Badar, Al Shams and anti-liberation forces’, says Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Huq.
He also warned of legal actions against the rumourmongers unless they apologise unconditionally.
“A transparent and flawless list will be published on Mar 26 next year. A guideline will be issued regarding the list formulation,” the minister told the media at the secretariat on Thursday (Dec 19).
“The list has been suspended as many quarters have complained of irregularities,” Arif Ur Rahman, the secretary to the ministry told Bangla Tribune.
Expressing displeasure over the list published on Sunday (Dec 15) at Liberation War affairs ministry website, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan said, “We have forwarded a list containing the names accused under Collaborators Act 1972. The note containing the names, who were acquitted in the cases filed against them, were also added in file.”
“The ministry hasn’t informed us about publishing the list,” he added.
The minister declined to comment on queries on the Tk 600 million allotted to the Liberation War affairs ministry for the list.
The first instalment of the list of 10,789 people, who collaborated with the Pakistani occupation forces during the nine-month-long Liberation War in 1971, has left people astonished as it was revealed that it apparently includes names of several freedom fighters and pro-liberation individuals.
Amid the widespread outcry over the list, Minister Asaduzzaman and Minister Mozammel is blaming each other for the errors since the revelation.
