Bangladesh Railways has suspended three of its staffers including the loco master of one of the trains involved in the crash in Brahmanbaria, which left at least 16 dead and dozens injured.
The Chattogram-bound Udayan Express from Sylhet and the Dhaka-bound Turna Nishita from Chattogram collided head-on near the Mondobagh Railway Station at the district's Kasba Upazila early on Tuesday (Nov 12).
Negligence by Turna Nishita’s driver has led to the crash, according to a primary investigation by railway authorities.
Railways Secretary Md Mofazzel Hossain said that the Turna Nishita's loco master, assistant loco master and a security guard have been suspended.
He said, “The probe committees have been told to submit their findings by two days. No conclusion over the accident can be drawn before the probe reports are available.”
