Social Welfare Minister Rashed Khan Menon and Chinese Ambassador to Dhaka Zhang Zuo have discussed the political situation in Bangladesh.

At the minister’s residence in Mintoo Road, the meeting took place about one and half hour on Wednesday. Minister’s only son Anik Rashed Khan was also present in the meeting, says a ministry press release.

In the meeting, they discussed the current political situation, upcoming general election, Dhaka-Beijing relationship, the role of China in Bangladesh’s development process, the relationship between China and Bangladesh Workers’ Party and future bilateral relationship.

The minister drew the attention of the ambassador about Rohingya crisis and in reply, the ambassador assured that his country would engage with Myanmar to convince them to take back the displaced people.
