Army deployed in Satkhira as ‘Bulbul’ nears

Bangladesh Army, Coast Guards, local administration, volunteers of the cyclone preparedness programme, officials and employees of the Disaster Management Ministry are jointly working in the evacuation drive. FOCUS BANGLAArmy teams have been deployed in the coastal areas of Satkhira in order to combat the very severe cyclonic storm Bulbul.

The army deployment took place on Saturday (Nov 9) evening, said a statement sent by Inter Service Public Relation Directorate.

Cyclone Bulbul is set to bear down on Bangladesh coasts on Saturday midnight.

Therefore, all coastal infantries of Bangladesh Army are prepared to take immediate action to provide all kind of assistance during and post cyclonic destruction, the release added.
