Good journalists don’t have friends: Minister

Calming the creative expression of journalists make them memorable, Housing Minister SM Rezaul Karim has said a good journalist don’t have any friend.
“Their companion is hardship,” he said while addressing a photo exhibition in Dhaka on Thursday (Nov 7).
Mentioning the journalism as a ‘thankless job’, the minister said, “Journalists lead a hard life as their remuneration comes irregularly.”
Karim said journalists face the pressure by their management. “The personal choice becomes limited for journalists. But the growing online journalism and social media will play a major role to express independent journalism.”
“Despite the risk, photo journalists show no biasness that sometimes reporters can’t follow,” he added.
The minister handed over crests and certificates to eight awarded journalists in the programme.
The Bangladesh Photo Journalist Association the national photo exhibition titled ‘Ruposhi Bangla’ at the National Press Club.
