The controversial ward councillors involved with graft will not be given nomination for the upcoming city corporation polls, said senior Cabinet member Obaidul Quader.
His remarks came while addressing the media at his secretariat offices on Tuesday (Oct 15).
He said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s crackdown on narcotics, terrorism, casinos, extortion, tender manipulations and other crimes will continue.
“New leadership is being created after dropping controversial leaders starting from the grassroots to the central,” he said.
He said called on the activists to remain careful about controversial leaders being part of any committee.
