The government has set the deadline of Aug 2 for Hajj agencies to confirm flight tickets for pilgrims.
In a meeting with representatives of agencies on Tuesday (Jul 17), the religious affairs ministry warned of initiating legal measures, if pilgrims miss flights.
“Buying tickets for the pilgrims needs to be completed between Jul 27 and Aug 2 to ensure their hajj journey otherwise no slot will be available. It will disrupt the whole process,” said the ministry’s Secretary Anisur Rahman.
“The agencies will be held responsible and face legal action if a single pilgrim fails to get a flight,” he said.
Depending on the sighting of the moon, the Hajj is likely to be held on Aug 24.
