The government has decided to provide coal to Rohingyas as alternative cooking fuel to save environment in Cox’s Bazar.
As a substitute to plastic bags, it will also supply jute bags to them.
Anisul Islam Mahmud, Minister of Environment and Forest, disclosed this at a press briefing on national plantation day at his Secretariat office Sunday.
About 1.1 million Rohingyas are now staying in COnx’s Bazar creating serious threat to environment in the area.
They cut tress and use it as fuel to cook food and erect make shift houses in the area resulting in deforestation in Cox’s Bazar.
