Bangladesh’s power generation capacity rose to 15,351MW from 4,942MW in the last eight years. (File photo)Adequate gas supply has pushed up the electricity production to a record high of 11,306 megawatt on Saturday, PDB sources said.
Also, a full swing operation of all fuel run plants is also another reason for production hike, said through a mobile message the Director of Public Relation of power development Board (PDB) Saiful Hasan Chowdhury.
According to the state-owned organization, the electricity generation reached 11,059MW last week.
On Mar 19 this year the production was 10,084MW while the last year’s highest generation was 9, 705, said the PDB sources.
The PDB authority marked adequate gas supply as the key to producing power with all the oil-run power plants being operative.
According to the PDB sources, there is no power shortfall anywhere in the country.

However, in some areas, people are facing power shortage due to the problems in transmission and distribution line.
