Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has expressed discontent as government doctors who have been posted at the district and upazila hospitals outside Dhaka have not reported for duty, says Planning Minister MA Mannan.
The prime minister expressed her annoyance at the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) meeting held on Tuesday (Aug 27).
After emerging from the meeting, Mannan told the media that the prime minister was angry with physicians who were unavailable at their workplaces because they were working elsewhere.
She said that it would be preferred if the physicians practised where they were posted instead of setting up practices elsewhere.
During the meeting, the prime minister has also addressed the existing overloading in the economy and directed the concerned authorities to refer to new guidelines made available to deal with the problem.
She also instructed for preserving and cleaning up all water bodies available, including water in drains, for putting out urban fires.
