At least five Bangladeshis have been killed in a road crash in Saudi Arabia’s Jeddah, says an official of the Dhaka mission in the port city on the Red Sea.
As many as 11 other Bangladeshis have been hospitalised with injuries sustained in the road accident around 5am local time, Labour Counsellor Aminul Islam at the Bangladesh Consulate told Bangla Tribune.
“A total of 16 Bangladeshis were heading to work on a minibus, which met an accident leaving five killed on the spot and the remaining 11 with severe injuries,” he said.
Islam said that the injured victims have been taken to different hospitals in Jeddah. “Our people are at the hospitals and we are trying to get the details of the victims,” he added.
