Many people started for their homes on Thursday (May 30) and a spot visit of several locations at Tangail on Friday (May 31) showed no tailback.
According to authorities, opening the flyover on the highway and the proactive steps from the authorities have contributed to the ease in traffic moving through Bangabandhu Bridge.
Moreover, development work in that route including the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) construction at Gazipur has been halted before Eid.

CCTV cameras have been installed in addition to watchtowers and primary medical service for the travelers.
“Traffic during Eid will be lighter as the Chandra intersection has been widened,” said Ismail Hossain, a driver by profession.
Gazipur Mayor Advocate Jahangir Alam gas also ordered movement of trucks and covered vans to be halted at the highway three days prior to Eid.

Although the traffic is expected to get heavier with the garment factories announcing holidays on Saturday (Jun 1) and Sunday (Jun 2), authorities concerned don’t think it’ll be much of an issue.
Gazipur Metro Traffic chief Assistant Superintendant of Police (ASP) Thoai Angpur Marma says that the highway will see lighter traffic due to the long holiday.

Moreover, thousands commute through that route everyday to the Gazipur industrial areas making it one of the most congested routes.
