Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has congratulated Rubana Huq on the win of her panel - Sammilita Forum that swept the election of Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA.
PM’s greeting came after Rubana Huq paid a courtesy call on Hasina at her office in Dhaka on Sunday (Apr 7).
“Rubana called on the prime minister this afternoon and greeted her by presenting a bouquet on the occasion of the victory of Sammilita Forum in the BGMEA polls,” state news agency BSS quoted PM’s Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim.
The prime minister congratulated Rubana and wished her success in running the BGMEA and further development of the country’s apparel industry, he added.
Rubana Huq, managing director of Mohammadi Group, is set to be the first female president of the BGMEA as her panel won all 35 posts for directors in the BGMEA polls held on Saturday.
She is scheduled to take helm of the BGMEA on Apri 20.
