Subjects and scores in the public exams for eight-graders have been reduced.
The Junior School Certificate (JSC) examinations will be held in 650 scores instead of the existing 850 in JSC while Junior Dhakil Certificate (JDC) examination, for mardasa-goers, 850 from the previous 1,050.
The education ministry took the decision to reduce burden on the student, Secretary to the Secondary and Higher Education Division Md Sohrab Hossain told the media on Thursday.
“Now, there will be no second paper in English and Bangla,” he said after a meeting of the National Curriculum Coordination Committee.
Students from this year will not have to take the exams for an optional subject — Agriculture Studies or Home Economics, which means the number of subjects has come down to 7 from 10.
