Dhaka has urged Washington to share intelligence inputs over any threats against its citizens currently in the country or planning to travel to Bangladesh.
"If US officials have any information regarding the threats against their citizens in Bangladesh, they should provide us with related intelligence," Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan said on Sunday (Apr 7), three days after the US embassy issued a travel alert for its citizens.
Khan made the remarks while speaking to the media after inaugurating workshop in cross-border crimes at the Police Staff College in Dhaka, reports media.
On the recent travel alert by the US, the minister said: "It has become a habit of the US to issue travel alerts for their citizens in different countries.
"If US officials have any information regarding the threats against their citizens in Bangladesh, they should provide us with related intelligence."
