Afsar Khan, a resident of Sydney Street in East London, placed the statue in front of house in 2016.Tower Hamlets Council has withdrawn a previous order to remove a Bangabandhu statue which was erected in front the house of UK Awami League leader.
Afsar Khan, a resident of Sydney Street in East London, placed the statue in front of house in 2016.
The council authorities last year asked Afsar to remove the statue as some local residents filed a complaint it violated city planning.
When Afsar made an appeal to review the order, the council sent its inspector to give a comprehensive report about it.
The inspector submitted a positive report and the earlier order of the council was quashed.
Afsar told the Bangla Tribune, “Some reactionaries don’t want to seethe statue of Bangabandhu on England’s soil.”
