Former chief SK Sinha intended to stage a “judicial coup”, says Law Minister Anisul Huq.
“Some two and half years were wasted in tackling [to thwart the attempt],” he said on Tuesday (Apr 2) during a meeting with the officials of Legislative and Parliamentary Affairs Division, BSS reports citing an official release.
He claimed that many development projects were also hindered due to Justice Sinha, according to the state news agency.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina had formed the legislative division realizing its necessity for the rule of law, Huq told the meeting before adding, “No law can go outside the purview of this division.”
Emphasising higher training for legislative division officials abroad, Huq said the ministry would take initiatives, according to the BSS report.
