Myanmar government is working to bring back the infiltrators (Rohingyas) in Bangladesh, said the Myanmar leader Aung San Suu Kyi. Suu Kyi said this on Wednesday (October 25th) in a meeting with Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, visiting Myanmar.
Sharif Mahmud Apu, Public Relations Officer of Ministry of Home Affairs, told this to the Bangla Tribune.
He added that Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal led a 10 member delegation of Bangladesh to the one-hour meeting with Suu Kyi. During the meeting, Home Minister invited Suu Kyi to visit Bangladesh on behalf of Prime minister Sheikh Hasina. She assured that she will visit Bangladesh during a convenient time of the two countries.
In the meeting, Suu Kyi said, her government has started working to implement the recommendations of the Anan Commission. The process to repatriate the intruders (Rohingyas) will begin on the basis of the Sheikh Hasina’s 5 proposals and the recommendations of the Anan Commission.
Besides in the meeting, Mr. Kamal informed Suu Kyi about the decisions taken in the Home Minister level meeting with the senior officials. Decisions taken in the Joint Working Group meeting were also informed to Suu Kyi. Suu Kyi has agreed on these decisions.
The Home Minister has informed Suu Kyi about Sheikh Hasina’s ‘Zero Tolerance Policy’ against terrorism. He (Mr. Kamal) said, ‘No terrorist will be patronized by the government of Bangladesh but many of the infiltrators could be involved in terrorism and militancy if they do not repatriate within a shortest possible time.
In addition, Suu Kyi was informed about the frightening effects of the drug smuggling especially the ‘Yaba’. In reply of this matter, Suu Kyi said, Myanmar is also affected by the drug called ‘Yaba’. She said, Myanmar govt. will take initiatives to the border to stop the ‘Yaba’ Smuggling.
