In the case lodged over the fire at the FR Tower in Banani, the owner of the land SMH Faruk, 65, and owner of the extended part of the building, Tasvir ul Islam have been arrested.
But Liaquat Ali Khan Badal, the owner of Rupayan Group, the company which constructed the building, has scarpered.
The question is, if he has gone into hiding or has left the country?
A reliable source in police says that Liaqat Ali is currently in Singapore, leaving the country on Mar 29, the day after FR Tower faced the fire accident.
In the tragedy, 26 persons died and hundreds were injured.
Later, the SI of Banani police station lodged a case and based on it, the owners of the land and the extended part of the building were arrested.
