The massive fire that broke out at Banani’s FR Tower on Thursday has spread to the next building as well.
Smoke was seen coming out of the next building around 3:30 pm as fire fighting units worked to put it out.
“Two of us were trapped on the 23rd floor of FR Tower. No one else was there,” said Rezaul Karim.
“The fire has spread to the next building,” he added.
Meanwhile, rescuers said that the rescue efforts were being hindered despite four crane ladders due to the thick smoke.
Traffic movement has been halted in the area and Air Force helicopters were sprinkling water to douse the flames that originated on the 9th floor of the building earlier in the day.
