No more distortion of history: Hasina

“Many generations read and learnt distorted history,” she said while addressing a discussion meeting for Independence Day and National Day, 2019 on Wednesday (Mar 27) reports UNB.
“But now no one will be able to distort the country’s history,” she added.

PHOTO: PIDHasina said that the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman who gave Independence to the nation, had his name removed from the history of Liberation War and that of the Language Movement.
She added that the truth can never stay hidden with lies for long, the news agency reported.
Saying that her government has vowed to establish the country as a hunger- and poverty-free ‘Sonar Bangladesh’ she added that the country will celebrate the birth centenary of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in 2020 and the Golden Jubilee of the country’s independence in 2021.
Hasina, who also serves as the ruling Awami League’s chief, called on the party activists and leaders to work for the country with the spirit of patriotism and said that AL is the only political party that serves the nation properly.
She said that the party organisation needs to be strengthened further in order to build a better Bangladesh.
